We were back in Singapore for a short weekend.
As usual I've gotta go makan at my favourite places.
One of them is this no name Roast Shop at a no name coffee shop. I swear, they have no name and no signboard.
It's below a local KTV/bar called Talk Cock Sing Song. (If they dare to have this name in KL, the religious fool will jump up and down but thank god this is Singapore)
Anyway, the location is at the intersection of Upper Thomson Road and Jalan Todak, opposite the Red House Coffee Shop.
There's hardly any parking places in front so you have to turn into Jalan Todak and loop around and park at Sing Min Plaza.
As usual they have Char Siew and Roast Pork as well. But what you should go for is the Roast Duck.
If I'm alone, I would order the drumstick. And remember to tell the uncle NOT to chop it into piece, this will lose the wonderful taste, for whatever reason.
This is so perfectly roasted that the skin actually a little bit separated from the flesh.
Hold the drumstick in your hand (bring wet wipes so you can clean your hand later). This thing has to be eaten with your hand.
And when you bite into it, the wonderful taste just explodes in your mouth.
I swear to god, I have been to MANY places and HK restaurants, THIS is the best.
We also had some of the other stuff as well.
They're good but not the best.
They give you pork rib soup for free!!
The uncle running the stall is really hard working. He opens every day except a few days in CNY.
He is usually open around 11am and probably close around 2-3pm when the roast runs out. On weekends, they can run out by 1pm, so watch your timing to avoid disappointment.
