That's what I think anyway.
The treasure in question is the best fishball noodles in the world. This this place is not easy to find. It took me a couple of times before I found it.
The stall is called Fah Kee located in the old part of town in Seremban. It is behind The Store on Jalan Lee Sam. On Jalan Lintang behind the store you turn left.
Once you're on Jalan Lee Sam look out for this bridge.
The left into the bridge and park anywhere. There's a ramp where you can go up for more parking space.
Then go into Kompleks Penjaja Majlis Perbadaran Seremban.
Go through the crowd, say hi to the cat.
Stall No. 37 is Fah Kee. This young man runs the stall with his father. He is arguably the most polite hawker in Malaysia. No wonder they are so popular. His favourite words are "Thank you very much, please come again."
His father makes each bowl with steady hand and never rushed.
The killer is the dried scallop on the noodles. Do you know how much per kg scallop is selling these days??? I bet he only makes a little profit on each bowl. And it is hard work man, this type of business.
You will never see him frown no matter how busy he is (They always are, especially on weekends). My hats off to him.
The fritters is not oily and quite tasty.
Then you've got the fishball and yong tau fu. But the second killer is the broth. This fucking broth should be rated at least one Michelin star!
It must have taken hours to slowly brew this broth and I think the secret is AGAIN dried scallop.
See the dried scallop in the broth?? Out of this world.
Each bowl is RM5 - RM6 and this is only S$2.00 or US$1.50!!! You can figure out yourself how thin his profit is. And all that work!!
My wife said he is doing it for the passion. No one will do this type of work with this kind of thin profit just for the money. And I agree.
Because of the popularity amongst the locals and the care his father takes to cook each bowl. The waiting time for your bowl is unsurprisingly long. Typical waiting time is 45 mins to 1 hour. You can count yourself lucky if you get your bowl in 30 mins, which was what happened today when we went there.
An there're always people queuing up to tapao too.
People from KL and other parts of Malaysia, please don't come here. Hahaha. We want to keep this place for ourselves!
